My name is Sarah Weidlein, although most people call me “Red.” Prior to joining RCA research, I worked at the practice level with Retina Consultants of Texas, for 7 years. I worked as a research assistant, research coordinator, site manager, quality assurance manager, training manager, and senior regional research manager. I served as site manager for the RCTX Newcastle office during the inaugural selection of the first RCA Research Center of Excellence selection in 2023. In my role as Director of Research Operations with RCA, I support practice-level staffing budgets and oversee job description development. I lead annual strategic initiatives to strengthen collaboration between research and clinic teams, and I oversee the operations and staff of the Research Referral Center. Additionally, I contribute to the development of resource action plans and support Center of Excellence operations. I also coordinate key organizational meetings across RCA Research, including the National Meeting, Manager and Director Meetings, and ongoing cross-department and practice collaboration sessions throughout the year.
